To encourage, promote, and showcase bluegrass music in Central Alberta
Annual Waskasoo Bluegrass Campout
August 13-15, 2010
Each summer, members of the Waskasoo Bluegrass Music Society and their friends come together to share music and good times at the Red Deer Fish & Game Habitat Park. It is a beautiful facility located in the heart of Central Alberta.
This relaxed weekend of bluegrass and acoustic jamming is organized by Society volunteers and is always a highlight of our bluegrass summer.
The Red Deer Fish & Game Habitat Park is located 21 km (13 miles) east of Red Deer via the Coal Trail, Highway 595, and then 4.2 km (2.6 miles) south on SR 816. If you’re coming from the south, catch Highway 42 east (the Pine Lake highway) off Highway 2 and keep going to SR 816, and then north. See Map Below
Camping is only $20 for the weekend. There is a BBQ on Saturday night beginning at 5:30 and you are asked to bring along a salad or dessert for that meal.
Beyond that, most everything is informal. Come and jam to your heart’s content. Go for a hike on the 320 acres with trails, start a game of volleyball, or drop a line in the pond.
If you need more information about this event, please give Gale or Rob a call at 403.347.1363.
